Chucky came into rescue from a Georgia kill shelter in late September 2020. Chucky was found wandering the street of Georgia as a stray, looking for a human to love. When the shelter contacted us, they were concerned about how he would do in a shelter environment since he was so small and loving. That’s when we stepped in!
Chucky made the long drive from Georgia to New York without incident. He quickly settled in with his foster on the upper west side and joined the resident chihuahua in operation couch-snuggle. Chucky danced on the carpet, crawling and swimming his body alongside the ground and edges of the couch, then rolling on his back and squiggling his lower body in delight. He was thrilled to be safe, clean, fed and in a home!
We quickly learned that Chucky was going to make the best pet. He just wanted to love, and he had so much love to give!
Astonishingly, Chucky had ten (!!!!) applications for him on his first week in rescue! We interviewed the applicants and brought Chucky to the homes to see who might be the best fit for him. When we got to a small family on Staten Island, Chucky told US! He was as happy as can be running through the fenced yard, napping next to their cat, and relaxing in his new mom’s arms. It was a match made in heaven!
Since then, Chucky’s new family couldn’t be more delighted. He is a sweet boy who deserves such a loving home! Congratulations to his new mom, Sara, and happy grandparents! What a wonderful match!! He even made friends with the cats!
